Three Point Dübendorf
In Zurich, the Three Point towers set new standards in urban living as the tallest residential buildings in Switzerland. A project in numbers
With impressive heights of 113, 111 and 102 metres, the Three Point towers redefine the city skyline. Together, the high-rise buildings host a total of 180 business spaces and 270 residential flats with floor-to-ceiling windows and wrap-around balconies. A special feature of the towers is their visual perception of movement, created by the skilfully designed, slightly offset parapet elements of the façade.
The numbers behind the building envelope speak to the imagination: 6,770 aluminium windows and balcony door elements, expertly installed by Fahrni Fassadensysteme, a trusted Reynaers Aluminium partner in Switzerland. In addition, 36 sliding systems, 475 panel elements, 440 balcony partitions, and over 1,000 square metres of aluminium sheet cladding give the residential buildings a lively and dynamic appearance.

During the planning phase, the designers behind Three Point aimed to limit unwanted noise pollution coming from the nearby airport as much as possible. To meet both the weatherproof and sound reduction needs, the Reynaers Aluminium Project Team came up with a bespoke balcony door variant of MasterLine 8. The balcony doors offer superior performance and a safe way to ventilate the offices and apartments. Moreover, their Hidden Vent design option helps the opening elements blend in with the surrounding façade, enabling a seamless continuous finish.
Ronald Schmid, Construction Project Manager at ADT Innova, explains why he chose MasterLine 8: "It was not only the technology behind the system that was convincing, but also the bespoke aluminium frames, which allowed us to bring in natural daylight while keeping out noise and rain at the same time. "The challenge was not just the quantity of window and door elements to be installed; the logistics and strict deadlines were among our biggest tasks," continues Schmid. The team had to consider the coordination of the façade lifts; adhering to the schedules for the various construction phases; timely delivery, distribution and professional storage of the materials; as well as ensuring meticulous installation at great heights. "In this sense, we appreciated the smooth and efficient collaboration with Fahrni Fassadensysteme very much. From the start of the construction phase to the completion of the project, the same installation team was involved, which ensured continuity and the overall quality of the work. Thanks to a precise assembly process, the fitters managed to complete three floors within just two weeks."
