Casa Entre Encinas
Located in the quiet residential area of Las Rozas, on the outskirts of Madrid, Casa Entre Encinas ("House among Oak Trees") is a single-family home that redefines the relationship between architecture, landscape, and urban life. Reynaers Aluminium ultra-slim windows and sliding systems contributed to the architects' minimalist vision, while ensuring excellent indoor comfort and thermal performance.
Designed by Unode Estudio, the project responds to a unique brief: to explore bold geometries and material expression while creating a highly personal living environment. Within the broader context of Madrid’s intensity and urban dynamism, the house establishes itself as a calm retreat—one that maintains visual connections to the city while offering the quietness of a natural setting. Set within a plot populated by mature oak trees, the house is carefully positioned to capture wide views while ensuring privacy.
The building is strategically placed at the optimal point of the plot, taking advantage of its topography to obtain the best views of Madrid while ensuring a high degree of privacy.

The architecture unfolds as a folded volume that gradually opens towards the landscape. This approach not only frames the surrounding scenery but also shapes the interior experience, guiding movement and orienting spaces towards light and views.

Geometry as experience
The south façade plays a defining role in the project. Its articulated folds act as both spatial and environmental devices, allowing for controlled solar gain throughout the day. This passive design strategy enhances indoor comfort while maintaining a strong visual connection with the outdoors. The result is a home that feels open and transparent, yet carefully protected.
Careful material choices further reinforce this dialogue with the environment. Natural stone, expansive glazing, and a refined metallic envelope create a balanced composition that is both contemporary and discreet. Outdoor areas extend seamlessly from the interior, with terraces, porches, and a swimming pool conceived as natural continuations of the living spaces.
Seamless transparency with engineered performance
Large glazed openings are central to the architectural concept, requiring advanced technical solutions to meet both aesthetic and performance demands. Reynaers Aluminium systems were selected to deliver this balance. The minimalist HiFinity sliding doors enable expansive, uninterrupted views with ultra-slim profiles, dissolving the boundary between inside and outside. The SlimPatio 68 sliding system is integrated in smaller openings, ensuring visual harmony throughout the project. This language is further complemented by SlimLine 38 windows, whose slender sightlines and thermal performance reinforce the overall coherence of the design.
Despite its extensive glazing, the house achieves a high level of energy efficiency. The design integrates passive strategies such as building orientation, solar control and thermal insulation, alongside active systems including aerothermal energy, photovoltaic panels, and heat recovery. Together, these elements ensure optimal comfort throughout the year with reduced energy consumption.
At its heart, the home is organised around a double-height living space that acts as a social meeting point. From here, visual and functional continuity extends towards the exterior, where natural light and vegetation become integral parts of daily life.
This project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, technical expertise, and thoughtful design, resulting in a contemporary home that offers both architectural expression and a refined retreat from the vibrant city beyond.
