Empowering Transparency & Traceability

How do you know a building is truly sustainable? Not by promises, but by data you can verify, track and trust at every stage of a building’s lifecycle. Through third-party verified EPDs, digital product passports, and professional support tailored to your needs, we give architects, investors and building owners the credible information they need to design smarter, comply earlier, and build with confidence - from the very first sketch to delivery and beyond.

Why is it relevant?

At the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, we set some bold targets to decarbonize. A lot has changed since, but sustainability and carbon accounting in the construction sector are here to stay. Disclosing sustainable product data is no longer optional; in fact, the shift is already happening today.

This is not just about compliance. Transparent, traceable information strengthens every decision you make. For architects, it means designing with accuracy and eliminating uncertainty early in the process. For investors and building owners, it means protecting asset value, supporting ESG credentials, and anticipating the disclosure requirements coming at the end of this decade.

Product EPDs and Project EPDs

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) lead the way to futureproof decision-making. With our collection of Product EPDs, you can assess the environmental impact of our systems based on clear and verified data. As the project develops and more details are known, we can go further. The EPD Builder lets you calculate the full carbon footprint of our systems as applied in your project, helping you meet increasingly ambitious sustainability targets.

Frequently asked questions

What is a digital product passport and why is it becoming mandatory?

A Digital Product Passport is a structured digital document that holds verified information about a product's material composition, environmental impact, and end-of-life options. Under the EU Green Deal, Digital Product Passports are set to become mandatory for a wide range of building elements. Reynaers Aluminium's digital product passport is called DigiTrace, and it helps architects, fabricators and building owners to access and share this information throughout the entire building lifecycle.

What is an EPD?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verified, internationally recognized disclosure of a product's environmental impact throughout its lifecycle. EPDs are voluntarily developed and their overall goal is to provide relevant, verified and clear information regarding the environmental performance of products. The basis of the EPD is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the product, in accordance to ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2.

How can I calculate the embodied carbon of aluminium façades and windows at project level?

With the EPD Builder, architects and fabricators can receive a Project-specific EPD. This environmental impact declaration is based on the actual volumes, configurations and systems specified by the architect. The EPD Builder helps architects to make evidence-based decisions that reduce embodied carbon without compromising on performance. When initial simulation does not meet envisioned carbon or recycled content targets, optimised sourcing can be requested directly in the EPD Builder tool.

Sustainability starts with asking the right questions.
