UN recognises Reynaers Group as sustainable pioneer

The United Nations has awarded Reynaers Group the SDG Pioneer label for its ambitious sustainable efforts. Deciding factors were the company’s continuous exploration of energy-efficient solutions, as well as the launch of our global sustainability strategy, Reynaers Act.

With this international certificate, the UN celebrates companies that have adopted effective sustainability initiatives in their current and long-term corporate vision. Businesses all over the world use the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a compass in their future-oriented operations. Only innovative industry leaders who apply the model to have a positive impact on our planet and society are eligible to become official SDG Pioneers. Reynaers Group is one of those leaders.

A holistic approach

Reynaers Group has many different projects in place that are related to at least one of the SDGs. For instance, we design certified products that help improve the energy efficiency of buildings all over the world. Many of our new offices and warehouses feature these solutions, such as the upcoming Forster Campus in Switzerland (LEED Gold Certification in progress) or the recently finished RCE Campus in Poland (BREEAM Excellent Certified).

Next, safeguarding the wellbeing of our employees is a shared core responsibility; internal Health & Safety campaigns remind us of that every day. We also care for our local communities by supporting non-profit organisations or through sponsorship activities by the Reynaers for Community initiative.

Since 2022, all our durable commitments are documented in Reynaers Act, the official Reynaers Group sustainability report. It helps us keep track of our 2030 science-based corporate targets, which focus on reduced carbon emissions in our direct and indirect operations.

Ken Wright, Corporate Sustainability Programme Manager: “At Reynaers Group, we always act to have a lasting positive impact. That is why I am very proud our company has received this unique recognition from the UN. In normal circumstances, SDG Pioneer certification is a three-year process. However, thanks to our strong historical efforts and futureproof Reynaers Act strategy, we managed to earn the label in one year already! It motivates us to continue our journey and help build a better, more sustainable future together.”
