Reynaers Group / Reynaers Aluminium is looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

Role
As HS&E Manager you are responsible for ensuring a strong and integrated culture of HS&E within our international business. You establish and promote an active safety culture to ensure best in class working environment.

You implement the established HS&E strategy, and you ensure that this strategy is consistently applied across all Reynaers Group operational sites. You define and coordinate projects that contribute to compliance and continuous improvement, and you monitor progress through audits and hands-on support to local teams.

You spend extra attention to the sites in Belgium, where you oversee the implementation of the HS&E strategy more closely and guide the local HSE staff. 

In this role, you will report to the COO of the Group and work closely in cooperation with our country managers and/or locale HSE responsible of the various international markets where Reynaers Group is operating.

Your responsibilities
As a Group HS&E Manager, you:

  • Champion a proactive safety culture, be an ambassador for HS&E within the global organization.
  • Implement and maintain structured HS&E programs considering legal guidelines and strategy of the Group.
  • Organize audits in line with the Reynaers Group audit plan and company standards.
  • Evaluate existing HS&E policies and collaborate with local teams to enhance standards and procedures, driving continuous improvement across all entities.
  • In collaboration with all businesses, develop and deliver suitable training courses to ensure we remain compliant with the industry’s best practices and local legislation.
  • Monitor the key performance indicators; ensure effective communication to local management teams and Group Management Team. Create actions plans and advice to meet those objectives.
  • Promote a culture of ownership and responsibility of the health, HSE topic by the manager of the legal entities.

In addition to group challenges, your attention is directed toward operational sites in Belgium, including Warehouse Duffel and the surface treatment plants in Tisselt, and Lummen. For these sites,

  • Local HSE staff at these locations report to you via a dotted line.
  • You guide and coach these employees and participate in HSE initiatives at these locations.

Skills and qualifications

  • Master degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HS&E.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ project management experience in an international multisite scope.
  • Passioned about the HSE topic in mainly a logistics and or production environment
  • Mastering strong skills in data analysis and risk assessment, producing reports and developing policies.
  • Detail orientated and well organized with a strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership qualities and able to work on different levels and cultural environments. 
  • This role requires the ability to switch between a strategic, international perspective and a hands-on, operational approach at the local level.
  • Ability to motivate business leaders (small and larger sites) to implement the HS&E guidelines into their operations and sites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Willingness to travel to local sites for audits and follow-up.
