Lagoon Village
Nestled between the serenity of Óbidos Lagoon and the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean, Lagoon Village rises as an exclusive retreat of 57 villas, built under phased construction. Architecture seamlessly blends with nature, with conscious building designs and responsible materials, such as Reynaers Aluminium joinery, that respect the green and deep blue surroundings.
There is always something happening at Lagoon Village. Just minutes away from the iconic beaches, the new development project benefits from proximity to all kinds of amenities, including golf courses, hiking trails and water sport activities. The soon-to-be-opened Surf Parque will offer an immersive surfing experience for sport enthusiasts visiting Portugal’s renowned surfing coastline near Óbidos.
Sustainable beauty
Designed by the Monark atelier, led by architect Pedro Quadrado, Lagoon Village celebrates the landscape and the memory of the region. The individual volumes seem to emerge from the earth, while the interiors are defined by geometric shapes that capture and distribute daylight, creating lucid and healthy living spaces.
In some villas, large glass surfaces frame the horizon, capturing views of the Óbidos Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, turning each home into an extension of the landscape. In others, they immerse residents in a sea of green from the surrounding trees. All villas seamlessly open to private outdoor spaces, offering expansive terraces, generous balconies, jacuzzies, and outdoor fireplaces.
The plots, ranging from 900 to 1200 square metres each, offer ample space to live and create new memories. The interiors match the unique characteristics of each villa, with distinct layouts that offer a sense of individuality and exclusivity. Besides the enchanting aesthetics, sustainability is deeply embedded in the project too. Photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, and electric vehicle chargers, alongside the use of sustainable building materials, help the buildings meet the high energy and environmental standards.
Every ray of sunlight is directed through the interior, creating a fluid sense of liveliness.

Light as a design feature
Disregarding fleeting trends, Lagoon Village draws inspiration from the aesthetic purity of Mediterranean architecture, where the serenity of the natural environment is enhanced by the careful integration of the built space. Elements such as natural stone and wood create an organic, almost tactile texture, while expansive glass surfaces amplify natural light. Filtered through the canopies of near-century-old olive trees, sunlight transforms every space into a haven of charm and well-being.
To create vast openings that bring the light inside, you need strong yet slender window frames that blend in the architectural design. For Lagoon Village, Reynaers Aluminium systems were chosen, expertly manufactured and installed by local partner Noxinova.

Slim and resilient window solutions
SlimPatio 68 minimalistic sliding solutions stand out for their concealed frames and flush thresholds, establishing extremely thin aesthetics without compromising on performance. It is the perfect match for the Lagoon Village: on the one hand, light can enter freely thanks to the system’s minimal sightlines, ensuring incredible views. On the other hand, its highly insulated profiles limit heat transfer during summer and keep out the harsh weather conditions during the off-season.
MasterLine 8 tilt-turn windows and exterior doors also contribute to residents’ thermal comfort, with all units achieving the highest A+ rating. However, there are many more angles to sustainability besides energy efficiency. For instance, MasterLine contains recycled and highly recyclable materials, which is why this circular solution has earned the stringent Cradle to Cradle certification. A responsible choice for any project!

The artificial “sand pools” add a distinctive feature to each villa. These organic structures blend seamlessly into the landscape, uniquely shaped to resemble a natural body of water like the nearby lagoon.

Innovation for comfort
The comfort of the villas is elevated through the meticulous integration of innovative technologies. Motorised ventilation systems and integrated heating ensure a consistently pleasant indoor environment. Optional pool heating and video surveillance systems add additional layers of functionality and security for ultimate peace of mind.
Lagoon Village means an exclusive milestone for Reynaers Aluminium in Portugal, as it is the first project to be equipped with DigiTrace, our very own digital product passport. A discreetly installed unique QR code provides immediate access to performance details, material information, and sustainability data of each window or door that is installed. Users enjoy full transparency, aligned with the European Union's future guidelines.
With DigiTrace, maintenance is simplified. I avoid unnecessary trips and the need for the owner's presence at first inspections.
