A Step By Step Guide
 

CUTTING PROFILES

Please note the general instructions:

1.Make sure to have a sharp cutting blade and a clean surface

2.Regularly check cutting accuracy of sawing machine

3.Follow catalogue instructions for correct clamping blocks and clamping orientation of profile

 

Cutting Profiles

Vent Profile
  • Align and set clamping blocks for vent profiles

Hidden Drainage

Frames (no transoms!):
  1. Measure and indicate positions of drainage holes on frames
  2. Drainage hole of 8mm can be drilled or milled with a CNC machine. No punch tools available.
  3. On glass side of profile cut away rills on insulation bar (8mm wide), with a 50mm offset from drainage hole of the frame or transom. Rills can be cut with a plyer, milled with a CNC or router.
Vents:
  1. Measure and indicate positions of drainage holes on vents. Make sure the holes on the glass side of the profile and the oposite side are 50mm offset
  2. Hidden drainage holes can be punched or milled with CNC machine. Drilling is not possible.
  3. On glass side of profile cut away rills on insulation bar and first aluminium rill of profile (8mm wide), with a 50mm offset from drainage hole of the frame or transom. Rills can be cut with a plyer, milled with a CNC or router.

Visible Drainage

Frames, transoms and vents:
  1. Measure and indicate positions of drainage holes on profiles. Tip: align profiles so drainage holes are in line.
  2. Drainage hole(s) can be drilled (3x8mm with a jig), punched or milled with a CNC machine.
  3. On glass side of profile cut away rills on insulation bar (8mm wide), with a 50mm offset from drainage hole of the frame or transom. For vents, also cut first aluminium rill of profile. Rills can be cut with a plyer, milled with a CNC or router.

Preparations for decompression

Vent profiles:
  1. Measure and indicate positions of decompression holes on vent profiles.
  2. Drill 5mm decompression hole trough the outer chamber of the vent profile. The hole can be drilled or milled with a CNC machine. No punch tool or jig available.
Fixed glazing:
  1. Cut away 50mm of outer glazing gasket on top of glass.

Preparations for Hardware

Vent profiles:
  1. Open accessory groove with a ‘knacker’, a punch tool or CNC machine.
  2. Open up holes for handle and when selected also for the internal gearbox.
  • Handle openings can be punched (for fork handles) or milled with a CNC machine or router (all handles) or drilled (only roseless handles).
  • Openings for internal gearbox can be milled with a CNC machine or router and with a punch tool (Siegenia gearbox only). 

 

Preparations and Connection of Transoms

  1. Prepare transoms by cutting away flange on end of profile (27x5mm).
  2. Indicate centre position of transom on base profile.
  3. Position and fasten inside T-connector (make sure reynaers logo is facing interior side of profile)
  4. Apply black silicone filling pieces for transoms.
  5. Clean and apply Reynaprotector to ends of transom.
  6. Assemble transom inside base profiles and fasten with screw.
  7. Mount rebate supports.
  8. Inject glue into profile and rebate supports.
  9. Apply silicone in internal corner to seal connection
  10. Clean connection with Reynaers Safety Clean

Corner Connection - Extrusion Corner Cleats-Crimp

  1. Clean and apply Reynaprotector to ends of profile.
  2. Inject glue inside of profile.
  3. Insert corner cleats.
  4. Assemble element
  5. Crimp element. See catalogue for correct support blocks and knive set.
  6. Mount rebate supports.
  7. Inject glue into rebate supports.
  8. Clean mitre with Reynaers Safety Clean.

Corner Connection - Die Cast Cleats-Crimp

  1. Drill 4mm holes for glue injection on internal and external chamber. Holes can be milled with a CNC machine, punched (see catalogue for correct settings of punch tool) or drill with a jig.When using a jig, make sure the holes line up with the centre lines on the profile.
  2. Clean and apply Reynaprotector to ends of profile.
  3. Insert corner cleats. Make sure the break line in the corner cleat aligns with the centre line on the profile.
  4. Assemble element
  5. Crimp element. See catalogue for correct support blocks and knive set.
  6. Mount rebate supports.
  7. Inject glue into rebate supports and profile until glue protrudes on oposite side of mitre.
  8. Clean mitre with Reynaers Safety Clean.

Corner Connection - Die Cast Cleats-Screw

  1. Drill 4mm holes for glue injection on internal and external chamber, drill 4mm hole for nail on external half scale and 12.5mm hole on internal half scale for screw. Holes can be milled with a CNC machine, punched (see catalogue for correct settings of punch tool) or drill with a jig.When using a jig, make sure the holes line up with the centre lines on the profile.
  2. Clean and apply Reynaprotector to ends of profile.
  3. Insert corner cleats. Make sure the break line in the corner cleat aligns with the centre line on the profile.
  4. Assemble element
  5. Tighten mitre by fastening screws towards mitre. On vents: be careful to not overstress the aluminium!
  6. Mount rebate supports.
  7. Inject glue into rebate supports and profile until glue protrudes on oposite side of mitre.
  8. Clean mitre with Reynaers Safety Clean.

Mounting of Double Casement Profile

DOUBLE CASEMENT PROFILE
  1. Indicate holes on double casement profile.
  2. Drill and countersink 4.5mm holes on internal and external half scales.
  3. Clean insulation bar and ends of profile in preparation of glueing insulation foam to profile with Reynaers Primer Seal & Bond Special.
  4. Apply sealing gasket onto profile.
  5. Align profile onto vent and transfer 3.5mm holes to vent profile.
  6. Seal gasket detail.
  7. Mount double casement profile to vent.
  8. Apply and seal acoustic gasket.
  9. Apply silicone sealant to end of profile
  10. Position and fasten end pieces, seal off seam with silicone sealant.
  11. Clean element with Reynaers Safety Clean
  12. Insert and seal central gasket profile.

Mounting of Hardware

MOUNTING OF HINGES, LOCK & HANDLE
  1. Insert hinge anchors into accessory groove. See opening doors for correct amount and positioning of the hinges.
  2. Cut away acoustic gasket at the position of the hinges
  3. Position and tighten hinges on vent side and insert spindle into hinge assemblies.
  4. Check for DIN L/R requirement and adjust orientation of shoot bolts on lock if needed
  5. Insert lock and cylinder. Fix lock and cylinder with screws
  6. Position handles and secure handles
  7. Mount receivers on frame / double casement profile. Make sure when using magnetic contacts, topside is up
  8. Insert hinge backsets into frame
  9. Assemble element and fix hinge to frame part
  10. Finish hinges with end caps
  11. Check functionality and adjust hinges if needed.

Finishing Door

FINISHING
  1. Snap away opening for the activator for the automatic drop seal
  2. Drill 4,5mm holes in finishing profile
  3. Mount end piece on vent on handle side, if there is a collision with the lock, shorten the lock if needed
  4. Cut automatic drop seal to width and insert in groove
  5. Position finishing profile and fix with end piece on hinge side
  6. Drill 3,5mm holes through 4,5mm holes in finishing profile, mount with screws.
  7. Insert brush and pinch brush groove to secure brush into place.
  8. Pull drop seal to reveal fixation holes and secure drop seal with screws avoid rubbing of the drop seal on the floor
  9. Position and fix end pieces on frame. Shorten central gasket if needed.
  10. Insert brushes into end pieces and secure with instant glue.
  11. Apply drainage caps if needed.

Glass Supports

GLASS SUPPORTS
  1. Position glass supports, follow the positioning as indicated in the catalogue.

 

Insulation Foam

INSULATION FOAM
  1. Apply insulation foam in between the glass supports. At the position where rills on the profiles have been cut away make sure to also leave a 8mm opening in the foam.

Rubbering

RUBBERING
  1. Apply acoustic gasket to the vent profiles.
  2. Apply outer glazing gasket inside each element and seal of with vulcanising glue in the corners.
  3. Apply central gasket.
  • When end pieces are used, degrease the connection with Reynaers Primer Seal & Bond special and seal with vulcanising or instant glue.
  • Central gasket can also be cut with a jig for a 45° corner connection. Degrease with Reynaers Primer Seal & Bond special and seal of corners with vulcanising or instant glue.
