STATE OF THE ART SIXTH FORM COLLEGE UTILISES REYNAERS PRODUCTS

Built by Morgan Ashurst and with an eye catching design by Architects _space, the new campus building, part of the larger Stockton Riverside College, creates the perfect learning environment for students.

The distinctive two storey building accommodates a construction, engineering and design centre as well as new hospitality facilities and a dedicated higher education centre. It features a balcony and a bridge, whilst fresh air is circulated via an atria ‘lung’ system. Solar panels offer a green energy source and there is also provision for rainwater recovery.

Fabricators for the project, Topside Group Ltd, installed Reynaers fire resistant curtain walling system CW50FP for its seamless integration, creative adaptability, excellent performance and maximum light penetration. The fire resistant system also provides up to 60 minutes escape time in the case of a fire, which is vital in any building housing large numbers of people. It is fully compliant to European standards BS EN 1363, BS EN 1364-1 and BS EN 1634-1.

Facilitating a light and airy interior, Reynaers CW50FP curtain walling helps to create a dynamic and effective working environment, which is designed to encourage optimal productivity from students.

“The flexibility of our product has provided the Architect with the capability to create a unique and landmark building, whilst the fire resistant system merges seamlessly into the overall design,” explained Reynaers’ UK Head of Sales, Paul Duffy.

Now fully open the two storey college offers a wide variety of courses for students all set in a purpose built, safe and aesthetically pleasing building designed to stimulate learning.
