Specialist fabricator Ingsteel in partnership with aluminium systems supplier Reynaers Aluminium, has completed the impressive glass and aluminium façade and atrium of the Apollo Business Centre in Bratislava. Designed by architects Juraj Jančina and Otto Grossmann, the new multifunctional complex is a development of the HB Reavis Group and has an overall surface area of more than 70.000 square meters and a rentable surface of 43.440 square meters. The Reynaers’ systems used are the curtain wall and roof system CW 50 and the window and door system CS 68. Apollo Business Centre is currently the largest and most prestigious office complex in the Slovak Republic.

New architectural landmark in Bratislava

The city of Bratislava has a new landmark. Built on a 1,1-hectares plot, the Apollo Business Centre has an overall surface area of more than 70,000 square meters and a rentable surface of 43,440 square meters.

The Centre forms part of the easily accessible and fast developing downtown area of Bratislava, which is expected to gradually expand up the Danube riverside.

The complex consists of two administrative buildings (five sections) of eight stories; the main building is nine-storied. All of them have underground parking places. 

An open and transparent working environment

Next to the offices, the multifunctional complex also comprises many shops, bars, restaurants, a supermarket and service areas. By integrating several green spaces inside and outside the building – providing attractive, airy and sunny premises – the architect has been able to create an ideal working environment. 

The combination of the glazed façade allowing daylight penetration and green spaces with palm trees gives the building a unique character. The use of aluminium curtain walls (CW 50) and thermally improved windows (CS 68) creates a modern, transparent appearance.

The extraordinary aspect of the frontage is thanks to the use of oxidised copper panels. The volume of the vitreous centre is emphasised by an eye-catching 26m high atrium.
